Aftermath: Remembering the Boston Marathon Bombing,

In conjunction with photographer Joshua Touster's illustrated lecture Aftermath: Remembering the Boston Marathon Bombing on April 17, a weekly rotating display of Touster’s stunning post-Marathon bombing photographs will be on view in the library’s Atrium from April 2-29. A freelance photographer since 1981, Joshua Touster’s clients include Massachusetts General Hospital, Wentworth Institute of Technology and Harvard Law School, among others. He has taught at Wellesley College, School of the Museum of Fine Arts and New England School of Photography.  Touster has exhibited his work extensively both in the U.S. and abroad.

"Aftermath" is a photographic reflection on the Boston Marathon Bombings of April 15, 2013, and how they affected both the people of Boston and professional photographer Joshua Touster.  Photographs from Touster's "Aftermath" series will be on display in the Curry College Student Center's Shelley Hoon Keith Quiet Study Lounge from January 19 through April 16.

Call to Artists, Boston Marathon Exhibition at Boston City Hall

THE MAYOR’S OFFICE OF ARTS, TOURISM & SPECIAL EVENTS is currently seeking photographers, sculptors, new media artists and painters to display their Boston Marathon Art. Through the eyes of our fellow Bostonian Artists we are hoping to capture the essence and spirit of this annual event started in 1897. The tragic events of last year have not dampened the spirit and determination of Bostonians. The hope is to reflect this aspect with an inspirational exhibition of Boston Marathon Art by citizens of this great city. DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION: March 1, 2014 5:00 PM Participants must reside or work in the City of Boston. Artwork submitted will be juried by the MOATSE Exhibition Committee.
